About OKhuman
The OKhuman ecosystem allows a writer to document human effort in their written work, and showcase it to their reader. It doesn’t judge the quality of the writing, that’s for human readers to do. Instead it characterizes the writing with insights indicating meaningful human effort. Your content stays private because we document your process, not your text.
How it works
- You install the OKhuman app on your computer (macOS 14+, Windows 10+). OKhuman works in the background while you write in Google Docs, Microsoft Word, Canvas, Gmail, Apple Notes, Hemingway App, Substack, Medium, WordPress, Ghost, Slack, LinkedIn and more. There are no interruptions to your workflow.
- As you write, OKhuman documents your writing activity and the time invested in your writing process. None of your text leaves your computer.
- When you stamp, OKhuman generates a stamp URL and appends it to your document. To show your audience the writing effort behind your words, leave the stamp in the document. If you don’t want it shown, delete it. Your stamp is still archived for future use.

- On Windows, open the downloaded “exe” file and follow the installation wizard.

One-time setup
- On MacOS, grant Microphone and Accessibility permissions when prompted. These are required for process documentation.
- Sign in to your OKhuman account. This process will take you to the OKhuman website and back into the app.
- Google Docs users need one extra step. This needs to be done for every Google account that you would like to write using:
- Open a Google Doc
- Go to Google Docs’ Accessibility Settings (Tools -> Accessibility)
- Check “Turn on screen reader support” and “Turn on braille support” and click OK.
- Because of a Google Docs bug, you need to go into these settings again and confirm that these are set. If not, please check again and press OK.
Note: Some in-app help screens will guide you through these steps including your first time reviewing and stamping. Read ahead to understand these concepts better.
